Bowland is a designated area of outstanding natural beauty lying approximately to the west of the Yorkshire Dales and to the north of Pendle and the Bronte Country of the West Yorkshire and East Lancashire Pennines.
The Way of the Roses cycle route passes through Bowland en route from Morecambe to Bridlington on the Yorkshire Coast.
