The Eagle Electronic Newsdesk is an experimental facility,
which is intended to act as a prototype news service for
the exchange of scientific information.
The general function of the service is to act as a "bulletin board" where individual scientists and organisations can post press releases for news agencies, educational establishments (including schools), and the general public. In this way, the newsdesk acts as a valuable scientific communications channel bringing new discoveries in an easily accessible form to the attention of the public at large. |
